Abby holds a Bachelor of Design from York University. With an interest in communication and information design, Abby creates clear and effective visual solutions that enhance understanding and engagement across various platforms.

Create Properties has launched a new website for Burnaby Lake, a 14-acre mixed-use community. Vanderbrand worked with Create to produce a website highlighting the future community, area amenities, and overall vision for the masterplan.

Vanderbrand is pleased to share that Matteo De Sanctis has joined the team as a full-time Junior Designer.

A recent graduate of the Bachelor of Design program at York University, Matteo’s work centres around the power of typography to evoke emotion, empathy, and narrative. Matteo’s work has been recognized by national juried competitions including the Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD).

Create Properties has announced the name of their upcoming master-planned community, located at 7000 Lougheed Highway in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Burnaby Lake is a 14-acre mixed-use site, located steps from parks, the lake, and future community centres. Create engaged Vanderbrand to name and brand the community.

Globizen has selected Vanderbrand as its agency partner to name and brand a new hotel and residence in Vineland, Canada.

Located in Lincoln County in the Niagara Benchlands region, Vineland’s distinct area is characterized by highly fertile, waterfront land. Known for its abundance of wineries, breweries, and distilleries, the area is poised to become a welcome retreat from the GTA. 

Globizen is a Toronto-based city building company that specializes in urban infill projects. Globizen’s approach is centered on disciplined execution and on using design, sustainability, and culture to create value for all stakeholders.

We are proud to celebrate Vanderbrand’s 15 year anniversary.
Founded in 2008, Vanderbrand has grown to an internationally-recognized and awarded studio.

Vanderbrand was awarded the Sector Award for Small Creative Agency at the first annual RGD Branding Awards.

The RGD Branding Awards recognize and celebrate the best in branding and identity design from around the world.

Vanderbrand also received an Integrated Award for One Delisle, and Element Awards for Sapsucker, Alba, and Heartland.

Visit the pop-up exhibition at the St Lawrence Centre for the Arts in Toronto until November 3.

Olivia Rohner, Vanderbrand’s Senior Designer, was named a 2023 Rising Stars finalist.

The Advertising and Design Club of Canada introduced the Rising Stars Awards in 2022 to celebrate emerging creative talent in advertising and design. Limited to entrants under 30 years of age, the ADCC will award one winner in advertising, and one in design.

The award ceremony will take place on November 11, 2023 at Koerner Hall.

Julie Vander Herberg, Founder and Creative Director, represented Vanderbrand at First Round Toronto.

Presented by UnderConsideration, First Round is a one-day showcase of original presentations made to clients showing initial design explorations for logo, identity, and branding projects.

Julie presented Vanderbrand’s first round for Bidmii, a digital home improvement platform.

Vanderbrand hosted a studio tour for York University’s Design Student Association. The DSA organizes frequent studio tours across Toronto, Montreal, New York, and San Francisco.

Vanderbrand is pleased to share that Júlia Maia has joined our team as Junior Designer.

A recent graduate of the Advertising and Design Program at Humber College, Júlia also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations. With her passion for bold visual storytelling, Júlia is dedicated to creating compelling narratives across diverse platforms.

Júlia completed a 12-week internship at Vanderbrand earlier this year.

Junction House is now the official gateway to Toronto’s Junction neighbourhood.

The residence, designed by superkül and developed by Slate Asset Management and Globizen, installed its new placemaking artwork: a neon sign welcoming the public to the Junction.

Julie Vander Herberg was selected to participate as a jury member for the 2023 Communication Arts Design Competition. The competition recognizes creativity, innovation, and excellence across various mediums including brand identity, print, digital, and environmental design.

Vanderbrand took home 10 awards at the 2022 Advertising and Design Club of Canada Awards.

Vanderbrand was recognized twice at the 63rd annual Communication Arts Design Competition.

Since 1959, Communication Arts has published the best in visual communications from around the world.

Deco and Opus Homes have selected Vanderbrand to brand and market their first condominium development, located within the highly anticipated Lakeview Village master-planned development.

Lakeview Village is a future waterfront community focused on sustainable, mixed-use development. In addition to Deco and Opus Homes, Greenpark Group, Branthaven Homes, Caivan, and Tridel will all be contributing residential buildings to the community.

Alba has been recognized by the global web resource, Awwwards.

Designed by Vanderbrand and developed in partnership with Executive Agency, Alba’s website is a digital extension of the printed brochure experience.

One Delisle has launched their anticipated collection of penthouse suites. Slate Asset Management commissioned Los Angeles-based artist Petra Cortright to produce a collection of NFTs to accompany the penthouse collection.

To commemorate the collection launch, Vanderbrand produced a limited-run hardcover brochure which detailed the penthouse suites, Cortright’s artwork, and Slate’s commitment to quality.

Sapsucker, a Canadian sparkling tree water company, has released its debut into the alcohol industry with a vodka-based, ready-to-drink cocktail.

Sapsucker Hard is a blend of vodka and Sapsucker sparkling tree water. The RTD complements the company’s beverage portfolio.

Sapsucker, the first-in-its-category, non-alcoholic sparkling water beverage sourced from maple trees launched last summer, in specialty stores like Whole Foods and Pusateri’s, and rolled out nationally to Loblaw in November. And now it’s launching lime vodka-flavoured Sapsucker Hard into the LCBO.

Permission is owned by a sister duo who came together to create a retail experience featuring inclusive sizes for active people.

Located on Ossington in downtown Toronto, Permission opened its doors for in-store shopping this November.

Bidmii International Inc., Canada’s first online home improvement marketplace, has partnered with award-winning Toronto agency Vanderbrand, to develop a new brand and visual identity for physical and digital marketing applications.

“As we establish the Bidmii brand in the digital marketplace, we are eager to work with a trusted agency partner that fully understand what we are all about, and who believe in the disruption that we are bringing to the home improvement space,” said Jon Christensen, CEO of Bidmii.

Now, Sapsucker is debuting nationally in Loblaw stores with a new shopper program that emphasizes its sustainability proposition, emphasizing that it is sustainably harvested from Canadian maple trees.

One Delisle is a new residence located at Yonge and St Clair in Toronto’s midtown.

A project by Slate Asset Management, One Delisle will be the first building in Canada designed by world-renowned architecture firm Studio Gang.

One Delisle is now accepting registrations at onedelisle.com.

Howard Junior Public School turned to Vanderbrand in 2019 to create a fundraising campaign for a new schoolyard.

Almost a year later, the Toronto school has surpassed their fundraising goal, ensuring that the proposed playground, turf field, basketball court, and jungle gym will be fully realized.

Sapsucker is literally tapping the maple tree market, releasing a first-in-its-category sparkling tree water.

Last year, Sapsucker engaged Toronto creative agency Vanderbrand to rebrand and reposition it within the broader sparkling water category after it had originally entered the wellness beverage market as a “flat” water tapped from maple trees. It has now got a lineup of three lightly carbonated tree beverages, in original, lime and lemon flavour.

A Big Picture, a charity initiative by Devron, was featured in the Toronto Star.

The children’s art contest will reward the top three contestants with money to donate to a charity of their choice. The effort has seen over 50 submissions and has raised over $45,000 from industry partners and organizations.

The first prize winner’s art will be displayed atop a billboard on Yonge Street in midtown Toronto.
